Hi, my name is Joseph Ouseley, the Acting Director of Building & Construction Department. Formerly, the Deputy Director of Housing and Public Works for the Township of Irvington. I originally joined the township in 2013, as a Housing Inspector and worked for the Department of Housing. In 2017, I was promoted to Deputy Director of Public Works beginning in November 2022.
In 2022-2023, I served as the Program Manager for the Township’s Lead program. Also, I obtained several certifications for Rutgers University & William Paterson University; as well as receiving numerous awards and recognition for outstanding contributions to the community.
Currently, I provide both departments with invaluable insight and knowledge that comes from many years in the construction field. I have assisted in restructuring housing violations and codes, while providing training to inspectors as the Deputy Director of Housing and Building Construction.
As Deputy Director of Public Works, I will be overseeing the ongoing maintenance and construction projects that will assist Public Works in better servicing the residents of Irvington.
My mantra is “I am here to serve the residents of Irvington, whenever, and wherever there is need”.
