Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss Announces Former Irvington Police Director Santiago returning to Irvington

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that former Irvington Police Director, Joseph Santiago, will be returning to the Township as a consultant through his consulting company, Santiago Associates LLC.

“I am pleased to announce that Santiago will be working with us for several months to share his expertise and proven track record in the reducing crime,” said Mayor Vauss. “Joe has been successful in instituting crime reduction practices in Irvington, Trenton, and Newark. I look forward to our town benefiting from this relationship.”

Two of the Mayor’s stated goals are to make Irvington cleaner and safer. “Having Santiago on the team will help us to move forward in our mission to make Irvington a safer place to live, work and play,” said Mayor Vauss.

A few weeks ago, Tracy Bowers retired from the position of Police Director. Musa Malik is the acting Police Director.   Santiago will provide technical advice to the acting police director.
