Irvington, NJ, January 12, 2015: Mayor Tony Vauss of Irvington, along with the Irvington Police Director, Tracy Bowers, unveiled 18 new police vehicles the Township has purchased. The celebration was attended by members of the public and Township staff, as the vehicles were displayed in front of Town Hall.

“These state of the art vehicles will assist us in meeting our goal of making Irvington safer,” said Mayor Vauss. “Our police officers need the appropriate equipment to do their jobs. These cars and SUVs are an indication of our commitment to them and the people of Irvington.”

“We are in full support of the Mayor’s goal to make Irvington safer. He is working towards fulfilling his pledge that this will happen by the acquisition of these vehicles,” said Police Director Tracy Bowers. “Having the right apparatus, combined with the dedication of our police force, is a winning combination for fighting crime.”

The vehicles will be on display at the State of the Township Address on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Christian Pentecostal Church, located at 971 Clinton Avenue, Irvington. The Address will begin at 6:00pm.
